From time to time, the stupid Shopping Cart Software will return an Error Message which reads "Delivery Not Available To Your Address"
What this means, really, is that the Shopping Cart software is temporarily down, and Please Try back again soon.
Network Solutions seems not inclined to fix the error message to say that, and I know it damages OUR customer relations and customer confidence.
We lease the Shopping Cart software from Network Solutions,
it runs on their server,
there is nothing I personally can do to fix the problem except complain to them.
For those unaware, all mail moving between cities, is moved by FedEx, not by the post office.
Therefore, postal shipping rates, since this happened in about 2004,
are based on weight PLUS distance.
So each and every package has to have its shipping rate calculate separately.
The Shopping Cart software relies on a live link to the post office database table, to calculate shipping costs.
When the post office database is down for any reason, the software cannot do this calculation, and so returns an error message. It is the message itself which irritates everyone.
Please understand that the "no delivery to your address" message,
really means "System Down, Please Try Again later"
The system was down last night once again, January 20/21, 2009
because the Post Office just had another rate increase.
The Post Office took their Shipping Rates Tables off line, to install the updated shipping rate tables
Regular stamps still cost the same, so there has been no publicity about this shipping rate increase.
But packages now cost more to ship.
If you get a message which says "No Delivery to Your Address",
PLEASE understand that this only means "System Temporarily Down, Please Try Again Later"
